Topped out of MQTT Client Sessions, causing major disruptions

We are facing an issue where we have ran out of client_sessions. We are unsure why there are so many client_sessions being spawned, and are investigating that internally at the moment.
In the meantime, this is causing major disruptions on our service and due to them not being able to connect to the MQTT. Would there be a way to clear out the current client sessions manually or some other resolution (like being able to upgrade the current cluster to a paid one without needing to create a new one, as a change in URL would require firmware changes across all our assets). Out current cluster is a serverless free tier right now.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Hello Akshaybj,
I am unsure if it will be possible to keep the hostname for your cluster if you switch between tiers, but have reached out internally to confirm.
With your used Serverless cluster, you do not have access to a client list. This becomes available starting with Starter where you have access to the cluster’s Control Center. Are you still seeing the inexplicable connections?

Please feel free to reach out to the support team directly by creating a ticket using the “Contact Support” in the help section of your HiveMQ Cloud console. This will share information about your cluster with us, so we know which deployment we are speaking of.

Kind regards,
Finn
