How come my access.log is empty?

I am on trial license using security extension. I know it runs for 5 hours then I have to restart. After I restart I started to test it with mqtt client pub/sub a couple of times. And I would like to review access log. However my access log is empty. Why? On a side note, my hive broker and mqtt client (mosquitto) are installed on the same server for testing purpose. I am not sure if that makes difference.

The most common reason that the access.log file might appear empty is that ESE is not enabled. Ensure that the HiveMQ Enterprise Security Extension is correctly configured and active.
